She said it looks pretty cool. I wonder if she’d replace her Mustang (a 2000 V6 convertible with less than 68,000 kilometres on it) with one?

I love mine; however, she should test drive one and make sure she is able to get in and out of it comfortably (it can be a little awkward). Also, the automatic has longer (worse) gearing and lower output than the manual (the car needs a manual to keep it in the power band).

The BRZ is an enuthsiast’s car and may not work for a more casual purpose or driver. She might love it and could possibly be looking for a light weight two seater with few compromises for mass appeal, but I wouldn’t recommend one for my mom (she does love its looks and remarks about how pretty she thinks it is all the time, but she also thinks the ride is a little stiff and it is too tough to get in and out of).

The ride height is the only thing I can imagine her having an issue with, since she wants to sit higher up (hence why the Maxima replacement would be an SUV/CUV). Otherwise, I think she might enjoy it.

But then again, she said she’d be buried in that Mustang, so...

It does ride pretty low, which is one of the main reasons it is tough to get in and out of. Might as well check one out though, things like fit and feel are tough to predict without a personal visit.

One thing to keep in mind is the BR2 is WAY smaller than a Mustang.

True, but it’s usually only her in it.

One of the women I work with recently traded her Alfa Mito for one, in the correct blue, and she loves it.

Around 2000 when I was in college, My mom asked about the new Celica. She said it looked really nice and she was thinking of buying one. I visited her a few weeks later and a she had bought a 3-door Saturn SC1 (because it had the third door). I nearly barfed, especially since it was the 100hp SC1.

Keep talking to her about her car choices, or else.
